In early 2011 Ven. Sujatha Peradeniye and the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple undertook the challenge of raising funds for a new incubator to donate to Peradeniya General Hospital. That financial goal was met, and in July, through a collaboration between The Blue Lotus, Sanatha Suwaya, and Jana Sarana, the dream became a reality. The donation was mediated by Dr. SisiraRanaraja, Director of Obstetrics at Peradeniya General Hospital, who demonstrated the machine function and presented the older, open air version incubator.
The machine replaced the older, open-air version incubator the hospital was currently using. The televised event celebrated the efforts of all the groups involved; It was truly a wonderful occasion and a blessing to witness.
